Dunaras is an attractive, village style complex in pleasantly landscaped surroundings just 15 minutes walk from NUIG. Beautifully appointed self-catering luxury accommodation, Dunaras is situated close to the heart of Galway City on Bishop O'Donnell Road. Dunaras is a secure gated community purpose built for students and, by providing quality residential accommodation our aim is to enhance the life of the student during his or her time at the National University of Ireland, Galway. The staff of Dunaras Residential Accommodation will endeavour to maintain the highest standards and with the cooperation of the residents, a safe and pleasant living environment will be maintained.

Making Friends at Dunaras

Dunaras is a mecca for students from around the globe and almost every county in Ireland. This year we played host to students from New Zealand, The Carribean, The US, Canada, and several European countries including Ireland.
Each study group have their own block and all are arranged around a central courtyard except for the Post Graduate block which is seperate. Thus we have the 1st year block, the post first year block, and the International block, all with close access to their own group and yet all grouped around the one courtyard, and with access to a single reception, mini market, laundry and bus service. With capacity for 409 students we have given alot of thought to allocating our students so that they make friends easily.

Our reception is manned by young but experienced multi-lingual staff who are attentive and friendly.

Life at Dunaras is relaxed, the services are excellent and the company is good!

This video shows a double en-suite bedroom, single en-suite bedroom and twin en-suite bedroom. You can also see the open plan, kitchen, living room and dining area. The kitchen consists of a cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer and all standard kitchen appliances. This apartment comes with a balcony, however some of our apartments may have a patio area instead.
